QA/ Test Analyst – Travel Industry, £aae, Wales ref: V529/ 2835

Fantastic opportunity has arisen for travel industry consultants to make the move into the travel technology sector and join a team of dedicated system testers whose role is to improve the functionality of this company's leading travel software. The QA / Test Analyst will be responsible for liaising with development, reviewing requirements and development specifications, and assisting with preparation of detailed test plans and scripts for functional, system and performance testing. You will execute manual test scripts, recording test results and raising incidents for test failures. You will complete test projects to delivery targets. The successful test analyst will have experience of working within the travel industry using a travel software system where you would had encountered using applications from front to back end including reservations, ticketing, invoicing and finance.  Knowledge of working with web based travel applications and a GDS would also be beneficial. Knowledge of SQL and XML would be advantageous. You will be a logical thinker who is able to work in a methodical approach. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to cross over from the leisure travel industry and work for a leading travel technology provider as a software helpdesk support analyst. The responsibilities of the helpdesk support analyst are to provide 1st line technical support to the leisure travel industry by answering queries by phone, email and through desktop support software. You will log calls through the call logging software and then take ownership to resolve queries by adhering to good service management principles. You will liaise with other departments including development and 2nd / 3rd level support to resolve issues and too ensure efficient turnaround of resolutions, for all complex problems you will escalate to 2nd level support.
The successful helpdesk support analyst will have proven travel industry experience working with a travel software system where you will have encountered using applications from front to back end including reservations, ticketing, invoicing and finance. Knowledge of working with web based travel applications and a GDS would also be beneficial. The helpdesk support analyst will possess excellent telephone manner and communication skills, written and verbal. You will also have an interest in technology and keen to take direction and improve your technical understanding.

Using project plans you will coordinate activities with the developers and clients to ensure timely delivery of the software.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in implementation or project management within the travel industry ideally working within a tour operating environment but not essential. You will need to have a good understanding of travel software and business processes. If you have worked with project methodologies this would be an advantage. The responsibilities of the QA Engineer will be to perform system tests on Windows based client server environments and web software systems. The role will be to develop data loading jobs to load data into SAS (SQL database). You will also be responsible for implementing data and upgrades into client sites. You will use SAS to generate reports, extracting data that matches specified criteria. This involves working with large data warehouse datasets.
The successful SAS integration / developer will be experienced with SAS programming, Enterprise guide, dataset and file manipulation, input and output handling, use of macros, looping, string and date functions, procedures including transpose and SQL. Ideally you will be SAS certified but not essential. You will have experience working within a financial or insurance background.

The responsibilities of the VB developer will be to develop the core system which is based on Microsoft SQL database with a windows user interface written in VB. My client is looking for an application support analyst to coordinate and administer all support activities pertaining to back office based systems for their leisure travel clients.
The responsibilities of the Application Support Analyst will be supporting clients with queries they may have relating to 1st and 2nd level support for their travel database system. You will assist implementing and documenting all client specific installations and configurations and assist with the implementation of tools to enable the production and test systems to be stable and fault tolerant. You will install upgrades and provide training on new releases. You will be involved in definition and documentation of enhancements to be submitted to development teams and preparation of test / demo systems for Sales & Marketing. You will maintain and increase levels of communication between internal and external organisations. He/she will take responsibility for individual projects.
The successful candidate will require having previous travel industry experience preferably within a similar role. You will be experienced with using a travel database system and supporting this. An online marketing executive is required to join the marketing department to cover online advertising and promotional activity, email newsletters and offer design, creation, management and updating of the websites, the Google adwords campaigns and e-marketing to direct clients This is a technical role and will provide the successful candidate with broad experience across the whole of the marketing mix with a focus on e-marketing. He/she will be managing and co-ordinating email marketing campaigns including design of artwork and writing html (using FrontPage). The successful person must be computer literate - All Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint should be second nature. Familiarity with Outlook email software and the ability to effectively use the internet (Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel in particular to produce reports and statistics) .Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Quark Xpress software or similar packages would be desirable and some marketing theory knowledge plus previous travel industry experience.

You will professionally represent the company in the online industry as requested. The successful applicant will require having proven experience in managing and leading a team of sales people. You will have commercial awareness and strategic involvement. He/she will have an understanding of technical integration/ product feeds xml, whitelabel and api. You will experience with various revenue models and handling of accounts. You will be a demonstrably focused and internally driven individual.
